According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-enabled student smart monitoring arrangement for automated attendance capture and real-time guardian notification in educational institutions. The arrangement comprises at least one camera, a processing unit executing a face-recognition engine, a template repository storing facial templates with associated student identifiers, an attendance database, and a communication interface linked to a notification module. During enrolment, multiple facial images of each student are captured and processed into templates. During operation, the camera streams images of students entering a monitored area; the processing unit detects and recognizes faces, creates or updates attendance records with timestamps, and automatically triggers electronic notifications, such as SMS or email, to registered guardians when arrival, absence, or late-entry events occur. An administrative interface supports enrolment management, live monitoring, and report generation. The arrangement reduces manual effort, prevents proxy attendance, and enhances safety and transparency by providing accurate, timely, and digitally stored attendance information."
