MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541120970 A) filed by Ballari Institute Of Technology & Management, Ballari, Karnataka, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'ai-enabled multi-sensor gait monitoring and diagnostic system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Renuka Sagar; Prthivraj Y. J; Dr B M Vidyavathi; Dr Aradhana D; Dr Jagadish RM; and Dr Mallikarjuna A.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an Al-powered gait analysis system configured for real-time monitoring, abnormality detection, and health diagnostics using a multi-sensor architecture. The system integrates one or more wearable sensors (001), including inertial measurement units, to capture motion and acceleration data during walking, and one or more vision-based sensors (002) to acquire synchronized visual and depth information. A data acquisition module (003) fuses and time-aligns the multimodal inputs into a unified gait dataset. A deep learning engine (004) comprising convolutional neural networks (005) and long short-term memory networks (006) processes the dataset to extract spatio-temporal features, determine gait phases, and detect abnormalities. An edge Al processor (007) executes trained inference models locally, enabling real-time diagnostic feedback without dependence on cloud computing. A communication interface (008) transmits diagnostic results, alerts, and gait metrics to external devices or electronic health record systems, supporting continuous monitoring, clinical assessment, and personalized gait evaluation."
