MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541113048 A) filed by Kit-Kalaignarkarunanidhi Institute Of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'ai-enabled infant posture and limb safety monitoring system using sensor fusion for preventing muscu.'

The system integrates flexible bend sensors (1), pressure sensors (2), and thermal mapping (3) to track the infant's body io alignment and limb orientation in real time. Using edge Al inference (4), it detects unsafe positions-such as an arm trapped behind the back or twisted under the body- and triggers gentle vibration or caregiver alerts (5) via a mobile interface. Designed with soft,, washable, and ergonomic materials, the system ensures comfort, safety, and non-intrusive monitoring during infant sleep."
