MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621033918 A) filed by Prof. Priyanka Kinage; Rashi Gundawar; Raunak Shah; Rishi Gupta; and Ishwari Salunke, Pune, Maharashtra, on March 20, for 'ai-enabled body-worn camera for bribery and abuse-of-power detection.'

Inventor(s) include Prof. Priyanka Kinage; Rashi Gundawar; Raunak Shah; Rishi Gupta; and Ishwari Salunke.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an AI-enabled, wearable body camera system capable of automatically detecting bribery, coercive behavior, and abuse of authority in public interactions. This system is based on a compact ESP32-S3 camera module for video capturing and an microphone that can perform high-quality audio capture, while the data are wirelessly transmitted to an external processing unit. The system analyzes suspicious hand movements, currency exchanges, and speech patterns related to bribery with the use of advanced artificial intelligence, such as YOLO-based object and gesture detection, speech-to-text conversion, and Natural Language Processing. A multimodal fusion mechanism provides enhancements in the accuracy of detection by fusing insights from audio and video and reducing false alerts. The device will generate evidence time-stamped and has the ability to provide real-time notification, which makes this solution a low-cost, portable, and scalable way to enhance transparency and accountability in public-service and law-enforcement environments."
