MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511114783 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 19, 2025, for 'ai-driven truck surveillance system.'

Inventor(s) include Aman Suthar; Rashprit Kaur; Abhay Kumar; and Dr. U. Hariharan.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-driven truck surveillance system aimed at solving critical logistics challenges both in India and globally. It features real-time monitoring of cargo weight and tyre pressure, combined with an automated rain-responsive cover that activates during precipitation to protect exposed loads. At its core, an AI analytics module processes sensor data to predict mechanical failures and promptly notifies drivers and fleet managers of hazardous conditions. The system is engineered to reduce tyre blowouts, mitigate engine stress, and enhance cargo safety. Notably, it innovates the integration of TPMS, rain detection, and load sensors into a single cohesive platform, making it a practical and scalable solution tailored for Indian road conditions. With added support from an IoT dashboard and mobile application, users gain remote access and control capabilities. Designed for affordability and innovation, the system is ideal for deployment in mining operations, quarry transport, and highway logistics fleets."
