According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Drying clothes outdoors is a widely used and energy-efficient practice; however, it is often affected by unpredictable weather conditions such as sudden rainfall and varying sunlight intensity. To address these challenges, this project proposes an AI-Driven Smart Cloth Drying System with Predictive Rain Protection and a Sun-Tracking Mechanism that enhances the efficiency, reliability, and convenience of outdoor cloth drying. The proposed system integrates artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) technology, and automated mechanical control to continuously monitor environmental parameters such as humidity, temperature, sunlight intensity, and atmospheric conditions. Using these inputs, an AI-based prediction module analyzes weather patterns and forecasts the likelihood of rainfall. When rain is predicted or detected, the system automatically activates a protective mechanism that covers or retracts the drying rack to safeguard clothes from getting wet. In addition, the system incorporates a sun-tracking mechanism that dynamically adjusts the orientation of the drying rack to follow the direction of sunlight throughout the day. This ensures maximum exposure to solar energy, thereby accelerating the drying process and improving overall efficiency. The system is implemented using sensors, microcontrollers, IoT connectivity, and motorized actuators, enabling intelligent and automated operation with minimal human intervention. By combining predictive weather analysis, smart automation, and solar tracking, the proposed solution provides a practical and energy-efficient approach to household cloth drying. The system not only reduces drying time but also protects clothes from sudden weather changes, making it particularly beneficial for urban households where outdoor drying conditions are often uncertain and space is limited."
