MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122205 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'ai-driven real-time wi-fi deauthentication attack detection system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Satish C J; and Mr. Danda Vaidik.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a method (100) for detecting Wi-Fi deauthentication attacks. The method includes capturing (102) Wi-Fi packets in real-time from a network interface, extracting (104) features from the captured packets where the features include frame-level attributes, radiotap header data, and Wi-Fi network characteristics, classifying (108) the packets using a trained machine learning model to distinguish between normal traffic and deauthentication attacks, and generating an indication when a deauthentication attack is detected. The trained machine learning model comprises a hybrid ensemble model combining Random Forest and XGBoost classifiers using soft voting. The method further includes generating (112) a deauthentication attack alert when a packet is classified as a deauthentication attack and displaying (116) classification results along with packet metadata including source IP address, destination IP address, and Basic Service Set Identifier."
