According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method for automated expense tracking that accesses a user's email account via an email application programming interface and retrieves bank transaction emails. The method parses retrieved emails using natural language processing to extract transaction details including amounts, dates, and merchant information from unstructured content. The method automatically categorizes each transaction using machine learning algorithms into predefined expense categories and stores them in a database. The system operates through a sequential workflow beginning with user registration and login, progressing through email processing using Gmail API, followed by extraction of transaction details. The AI categorization section analyzes transaction content and classifies expenses before storing data in the database, with final stages displaying transactions on a dashboard and allowing manual editing with data analytics and visualization."
