MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123213 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'ai-driven aircraft maintenance system with real-time defect detection and predictive analytics.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Muchenedi Hari Kishor; Gaurav Chauhan; and Priyamvad Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an AI-driven aircraft maintenance system including a computer vision module configured to process aircraft structural images using an object detection model to identify structural defects including cracks, dents, scratches, and surface deterioration, a battery analysis module configured to process battery operational parameters using machine learning to predict remaining useful life of aircraft batteries, a jet engine predictive maintenance module configured to process time-series sensor data using a neural network to predict remaining useful life of jet engines, and a centralized interface configured to integrate and display outputs from all modules. The system processes engine data through PyTorch Neural Network, analyzes images through YOLOv5 Model, and processes battery data through Random Forest Regressor, with outputs converging into a Streamlit Interface."
