MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115797 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 23, 2025, for 'ai-based sustainable fashion recommendation and virtual try-on system and working method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Naman Arora; Mukul Singh; Mohit Keshari; Mradul Soni; Dr. Inderjeet Kaur; and Dr. Santosh Kumar Upadhyay.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an AI-based sustainable fashion recommendation and virtual try-on system configured to generate personalized outfit suggestions and photorealistic garment visualizations on a user's image. The system integrates a user interface, backend processing modules, deep-learning-based feature extraction, hybrid recommendation algorithms, human body parsing, contextual scoring using weather and location data, and a virtual garment synthesis engine. Garment features are extracted using convolutional neural networks, while segmentation and pose estimation enable accurate garment alignment. A hybrid recommendation engine combines content similarity, collaborative patterns, and trend metrics, further refined through contextual adjustment. A generative model performs garment warping and synthesis to produce realistic try-on outputs. The system reduces purchase uncertainty, enhances user decision confidence, and supports sustainable consumption by lowering product return rates. The invention is applicable to e-commerce platforms, virtual retail environments, and augmented reality-based fashion systems."
