MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018106 A) filed by Cvr College Of Engineering, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Feb. 18, for 'ai-based predictive model for surface coating design for machining applications.'

Inventor(s) include Uma Maheshwera Reddy Paturi.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "AI-driven coating optimization model has been developed for dry machining of titanium and Inconel alloys to improve tool life, reduce cutting forces, control machining temperature, and enhance surface finish. The developed system integrates experimental investigations and an ANN-based predictive model for optimizing coating thickness of carbide cutting tools. A standalone GUI-based platform has been implemented to provide real-time prediction of machining responses and intelligent selection of coating parameters. The proposed model eliminates conventional trial-and-error approaches and provides a scalable, sustainable, and efficient solution for high-performance machining applications."
