According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-based FMCG assessment method (100) for personalized product evaluation and selection. The method comprises capturing a product barcode or label image using a scanner module; extracting ingredient and nutrition text via an OCR-NLP engine; retrieving product attributes from a nutrition database that aggregates data from manufacturer APIs, food authorities, and crowdsourcing; receiving consumer health requirements through a profile module; computing a health-impact score and serving-size guidance using an assessment module; comparing candidate products via a comparison module; identifying substitutes that better satisfy the requirements using an alternatives module; and exporting a selected product list to an e-commerce application through an export module. This end-to-end method ensures consistent, profile-aligned recommendations across scanning, comparison, and purchase workflows, enabling health-conscious decisions tailored to individual dietary needs."
