MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122157 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'ai-based dengue outbreak forecasting system.'

Inventor(s) include Biji C. L.; Kumar Aryan; and Piyush Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an AI-based dengue outbreak forecasting system. The system includes a data collection module configured to acquire historical dengue case data and environmental 5 variables including temperature, humidity, and precipitation data from multiple geographic locations. A data preprocessing module is configured to clean the acquired data and perform feature engineering. A time series analysis module is configured to implement a Seasonal AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) model to capture seasonal patterns and temporal dependencies in dengue case data. A machine learning module is configured to implement forecasting algorithms to predict dengue case counts. An explainable AI module is configured to generate interpretable feature importance analysis for model predictions. The system enables accurate early prediction of dengue outbreaks by integrating multiple data sources and analytical approaches, providing public health authorities with actionable intelligence for proactive intervention strategies."
