MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122086 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'ai-augmented adaptive honey vault authentication system.'

Inventor(s) include Somasundaram S K; Tanish Pavankumar Sancheti; Ayush Pandey; and Sanskar Jotwani.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an AI-augmented adaptive honey vault authentication system. The system includes a behavioral biometric capture module configured to collect behavioral biometric data from user interactions during authentication attempts. A machine learning anomaly detection engine analyzes the behavioral biometric data to detect anomalous behavior patterns indicating potential unauthorized access attempts. An AI-based decoy generation system generates synthetic decoy credentials. A response handler, upon detection of anomalous behavior, activates the decoy generation system to present synthetic decoy credentials to potential attackers while maintaining access for legitimate users. The behavioral biometric capture module operates within a client interface to monitor keystroke dynamics and mouse movement patterns. The system architecture includes server-side components with User Profile DB, Authentication Server, AI Analysis Engine, Credential Database, and Honey Model Manager that coordinate to provide real-time behavioral analysis and adaptive deception mechanisms through dynamic honey token generation."
