MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122408 A) filed by New Prince Shri Bhavani College Of Engineering And Technology; Inbarasu A; Magesh V; Mithun Srinivasan J; and Sivakami S, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'agropatrol - a multi functionality terrain roaming bot.'
Inventor(s) include Inbarasu A; Magesh V; Mithun Srinivasan J; and Sivakami S.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "AgroPatrol - A Multi-Functional Terrain Roaming Bot for Field Surveillance is an advanced autonomous robotic system developed to. address major challenges in agriculture such as labour shortages, rising costs, and the need for precision in resource man~gement. Traditional manual field inspections are often time-consuming and prone to errors, leading to delays in detecting crop stress, pest infestation, or water scarcity . AgroPatrol overcomes these issues by combining robotic mobility, loT -based sensing, and automated field action into a single platform. The bot is equipped with soil moisture sensors, pesticide level detectors, and high-resolution imaging systems to monitor plant health, identify nutrient deficiencies, and detect early signs of disease. Using GPS navigation and intelligent obstacle detection, it can safely move across uneven terrains without human guidance. A major feature of AgroPatrol is its precision spraying mechanism, which applies fertilizers or pesticides only. in required areas, reducing wastage, cutting costs, and protecting soil quality. Real-time data collected from the field is transmitted to farmers, enabling smarter irrigation planning, timely interventions, and sustainable farming practices. Its modular and scalable design makes it adaptable for a wide range of crops and farm sizes, from smallholder fields to large-scale agricultural enterprises .. By merging continuous surveillance, intelligent decision-making, and targeted action, AgroPatrol minimizes human effort, improves operational efficiency, and promotes ceo-friendly farming. Ultimately, this system enhances productivity, ensures better crop quality, and supports long-term sustainability in agriculture."
