The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Agriculture is the backbone of human survival, but traditional farming practices are often manual, labor-intensive, and inefficient. With rapid advancements in loT, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, there is a growing need for smart, automated, and datadriven farming systems. This project presents AgroAssist, a Smart Agriculture System that integrates loT sensors, voice assistants, machine learning, and image processing to modernize farming methods. The system monitors soil moisture, temperature, humidity, light intensity, and rainfall in real-time using sensors, and enables automated irrigation to reduce water wastage and manual effort. A key feature of AgroAssist is its integration with Google Assistant and Alexa, enabling farmers to use voice commands for system updates and irrigation control. The system also employs a machine learning module that predicts crop yield and suggests the most profitable crops to cultivate based on weather conditions, soil data, and market trends. Furthermore, soil quality is analyzed using image processing techniques to determine fertility, texture, and suitability without the need for expensive laboratory testing. KEYWORDS Smart Agriculture, AgroAssist, loT Sensors, Crop Yield Prediction, Machine Learning, Voice Assistant, Google Assistant, Alexa, Image Processing, Automated Irrigation, Sustainable Farming."
