MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122891 A) filed by Vardhaman College Of Engineering, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'agricultural produce storage device.'
Inventor(s) include M. Mouryasree; K. Manisha; B. Manishgoud; C. Shivanandh; S Vinodreddy; and Bandi Balakrishna.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An agricultural produce storage device comprises a body 101, multiple hermetically isolated chambers 102 provided inside the body 101 stores different agricultural produce separately, a lid 103 attached on an upper part of body 101 with a multi-layer sealing ring 104 embedded with shape-memory alloy actuators and an electromagnet 105 ensures hermetic sealing, a iris unit 106 provided at a central portion of lid 103 opens during filling, a fingerprint sensor 107 provided on an outer surface of lid 103 authorizes user, a tubing network 108 positioned below lid 103 with multiple conduits 108b connected to iris holes 108c at base of each chamber 102 facilitates filling and dispensing of produce, a grid pattern layer 109 at tube's inlet filters produce, an insect and spoilage prevention assembly 110 with each chamber 102 detects and isolate spoiled produce, a clump shuffling assembly 111 within each chamber 102 shuffles clumps of produce."
