MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521077048 A) filed by Westechpower Management Private Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on Aug. 13, for 'advanced cyber secure supercapacitor management system for supercapacitor based energy storage system.'

Inventor(s) include Amit Kaul Bamzai; Dr. Rohini Bhat; Preeti A Gangashetty; and Dr. Boobalan Thangavelu.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention introduces an advanced Cyber Secure Supercapacitor Management System (SMS) for managing supercapacitor-based energy storage systems, enhancing performance and security. The SMS is designed to monitor critical parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature while addressing voltage imbalances and ensuring predictive lifecycle management for supercapacitor modules. The system integrates advanced cybersecurity protocols, including end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication, secure firmware management, and real-time monitoring with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS). This phased implementation enhances safety, operational efficiency, and system reliability while safeguarding against unauthorized access, cyberattacks, and other security threats. The invention is tailored explicitly for remote monitoring through IoT platforms and enables secure communication and data protection, making it an ideal solution for industrial and energy storage applications."
