MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511112669 A) filed by Kiet Group Of Institutions, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 17, 2025, for 'advanced ai-based vehicle number plate detection system for adverse weather conditions.'
Inventor(s) include Manik Gupta; Swati Singh; Prakhar Gupta; and Dr. Gaurav Dubey.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an advanced vehicle number plate detection system, termed Deep Vision, designed to operate reliably under adverse environmental conditions such as fog, haze, mist, and low-light scenarios. Deep Vision integrates image dehazing, super-resolution, and artificial intelligence-driven detection techniques to enhance image clarity and improve recognition accuracy. The system acquires vehicle images, removes environmental distortions, upscales low-resolution images, and detects number plates using deep learning models. Optical character recognition is then applied to extract alphanumeric data, enabling automated integration with traffic monitoring, law enforcement, toll collection, parking management, and security surveillance systems. By combining image enhancement and AI-based detection in a unified framework, Deep Vision overcomes the limitations of traditional recognition systems, ensuring robust, scalable, and real-time vehicle identification in diverse operational environments."
