MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025443 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adjustable workpiece measurement assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Jyoti Taunk.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable workpiece measurement assistive device, comprising, a body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, an imaging unit 2 is installed on the body 1 to determine thickness of the surface, a telescopically operated inverted L-shaped rod 6 to get extend/retract in a downward direction for acquiring a grip over the surface in view of providing stability to the body 1 on the surface, the body 1 arranged with a robotic arm 7 for acquiring a grip on the workpiece, a motorized gripper 9 to position a brush 3 integrated on the gripper 9 to perform cleaning of the workpiece, and a movable jaw to translate the movable jaw 4 towards a permanent jaw 5 arranged on other side of the body 1 in order to acquire a grip on the workpiece."
