MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019355 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'adjustable wood shaving assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Chandra Mohan Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable wood shaving assistive device, comprising an elongated frame 1 that holds a wooden shaving plate 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing multiple images in proximity to the frame 1, a drawer arrangement 4 is actuated by an inbuilt microcontroller to extent/retract the frame 1, a pair of supporting structures 5 crafted with a slit are for engaging the plate 2 in the frame 1, an ultrasonic sensor 6 for monitoring curvature of a wooden surface, plurality of motorized hinge joints 7 for tilting the frame 1 in a manner to tilt the plate 2, a speaker 8 to produce audio notification, and a laser light emitter 9 guides user in translating the plate 2 on the wooden surface."
