MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019370 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'adjustable wood shaping device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Chandra Mohan Singh; and Dr. Rajneesh Tyagi.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable wood shaping device, comprising a frame 1 developed to be positioned vertically on a fixed surface, a microphone 2 for receiving voice commands of the user regarding the desired thickness of the wooden log, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing and processing multiple images of the wooden log present in the vicinity of the frame 1, a LiDAR sensor 4 determines the thickness of the wooden log, plurality of cavities 5 of varying diameter each integrated with motorized iris lid 6 to accommodate the wooden log, a robotic arm 7 to grip and insert the wooden log into the opened cavity 5, plurality of blades 8 integrated with motorized sliding unit 9 for shaving the wooden log, and an ultrasonic sensor 10 to monitor the dimensions of the shaved log."
