MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073960 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'adjustable walking stick holding device for storage racks.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rinkesh; Pankaj Palta; Ankit Mondal; and Ritika Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable walking stick holding device for storage racks, comprising a frame 9 having a plate 1 developed to be installed on shelf of a storage rack, plurality of suction units 2 for adhering the plate 1 on the shelf, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determine positioning of different commodities on the shelf, an extendable pusher 4 for pushing the commodities accommodated on the shelf in view of securing the commodities on the shelf and prevent interaction of the commodities with the plate 1, a pair of telescopically operated L-shaped rods 5 are accessed by the user for engaging a walking stick which is to be stored in the rack, an ultrasonic sensor integrated on the frame 9 monitors dimensions of the walking stick, and a motorized sliding unit 6 translate the rod towards or apart from each other."
