MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019756 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'adjustable waist tightening device for bottom wear.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable waist tightening device for bottom wear, comprising a platform 1 having multiple plates 2 developed to be positioned by a user behind waist portion worn by the user, a hook 3 is attached with the platform 1 for securing the platform 1 with the waist portion, an imaging unit 4 installed on the platform 1 captures and process images of the user, a speaker 5 mapped on the platform 1 for generating voice commands to notify the user regarding appropriate positioning of the waist portion, an ultrasonic sensor installed on the platform 1 for detecting size of the user's waist, a motorized hinge joint 6 arranged between the plates 2 for providing movement to the plates 2, a touch sensor installed on the plates 2 for detecting bending of the plates 2, an electromagnetic patch 8 arranged on the plates 2 for magnetizing to lock the waist portion."
