MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018215 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'adjustable vegetable cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Ajay Kumar Upadhyay.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable vegetable cutting device, comprises of a platform 1 configured with multiple rods 2 to support the platform 1 on a ground surface, a suction cup 3 for affixing the frame on the surface, a slot 4 for accommodating the cauliflower that is to be cut, an inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 5 for placing a circular shaped ring 6 to properly accommodate to the cauliflower, an expandable pulley arrangement 7 to properly accommodate the cauliflower, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 for detecting the presence of waste part and leaves of the cauliflower, multiple robotic links 9 for positioning a blade 10 for cutting the waste part and leaves of the cauliflower, a robotic gripper 11 for gripping and disposing the waste part into a receptacle 12, and a speaker 13 to notify the user regarding disposal of waste and leaves."
