MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026157 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 29, 2024, for 'adjustable towing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Mridul; Rajiv Kumar; Arun Saini; and Somprabh Dubey.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable towing assistive device, comprising, a circular frame 1 installed with an ultrasonic sensor for detecting presence of the vehicle on a ground surface, a first hook 7 installed on the frame 1 by means of a hydraulically operated pole 2 to extend/retract for positioning the first hook 7 in proximity to the rear portion that is accessed by a user to lock the first hook 7 on a coupling unit of the vehicle, multiple electromagnets for engaging to the coupling unit for securing the frame 1 on the vehicle, an imaging unit 6 to determine distance of a four-wheeler, a speed sensor embedded on the frame 1 for monitoring speed of vehicle along with speed of the two-wheeler, and a braking unit linked with a DC motor to rotate in an opposite direction for applying brakes to the wheels 5, thereby preventing collision of the vehicle and two-wheeler."
