MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024156 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'adjustable towel maintenance assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Lavish Pasrija; Simranjeet Kaur; Neha Rajput; and Anil Thakur.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable towel maintenance assistive device, comprises of a platform 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, multiple suction cups 3 to adhere the surface for securing the platform 1 on the surface, a slot 2 to accommodate a towel, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for capturing and processing multiple images in vicinity of the platform 1, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 6 to extend/retract for positioning the torch 5, a heating torch 5 to provide an optimum amount of heat to the evaluated portion, plurality of V-shaped clamps 7 to obtain a perfectly aligned surface of the towel, a robotic link 8 to extend/retract for positioning the clamps, a motorized hinge joint for providing required converging/diverging movement to the clamps, a motorized ball and socket joint 10 to provide a controlled movement to the clamps 7, laser heating unit 11 for heating the damaged portions."
