MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020127 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'adjustable tire-mounting assistive device for bicycles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable tire-mounting assistive device for bicycles comprises a frame with pair of curved rods 1 with handle 2 fabricated in each rod for user position the frame near to bicycle rim, a dust sensor detects presence of dust on frame, a suction pump 3 extracts dust from rim, a waste chamber 4 stores extracted dust, an imaging unit 5 captures mages in vicinity, a speaker 6 produces audio signals for guiding user to position pair of clamps 7 arranged on rods 1 over tire, a tactile sensor determines hardness of tire, multiple Peltier units provide heating to the tire, a LiDAR sensor determines gap between rim and tire, a motorized ball and socket joint 8 provide movement to rectangular plate 9 integrated on joint, a pressure sensor monitors pressure applied while inserting ends of tire, an electromagnetic spring 10 assist in mounting of tire."
