MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311083994 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'adjustable stump holding device.'
Inventor(s) include Ashwani K. Sharma; Bhasker Pratap Choudhary; and Navdeep Prashar.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable stump holding device, comprising a frame 1 installed with a microphone 2 for providing voice command regarding installation/uninstallation of frame 1 on surface along with distance between stumps, a motor linked with a conical member 3 configured beneath each corners of frame 1 to rotate for drilling surface, a tactile sensor mapped on member 3 for detecting hardness of surface, a speaker 4 installed on frame 1 for notifying user about skipping of drilling, four telescopic shaft 5 for positioning a suction cup 6 on surface for adhering frame 1 on surface, three rectangular blocks 7 crafted with a slot 8 arranged within frame 1 in which stumps are inserted as detected by a weight sensor, an iris lid 9 configured within each of slots 8 to close for gripping inserted stumps, a pair of motorized slider 10 to adjust blocks 7 at user-specified distance."
