MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020652 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'adjustable stilt walking assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Tarun Kr. Sharma; R. P. Agarwal; Vinod Kr. Rathi; and Vijay Maheshwari.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A adjustable stilt walking assistive device, comprising a pair of frame 1 configured with a column 2 position on ground surface, a foot-supporting unit 3 mounted frames 1 to position the feet of user, a motorized roller 5 wrapped with a strap arranged on supporting unit 3 to secure user feet, a curve shape link 6 embedded with pair of members 7 arranged on frame 1 for holding leg portion of user, a user-interface to provide input regarding height, an extending arrangement 10 to extend the frame 1 at specific height, an imaging unit 11 sync with an ultrasonic sensor to detect presence of obstacles, an audio unit 12 mounted on frame 1 to notify user regarding obstacle, an angle sensor framed within frame 1 to detect any inclination angle of user and an inflatable unit installed on frame 1 to protect the user, while toppling from the frame 1."
