MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023116 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'adjustable shoe protection assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable shoe protection assistive device, comprising a frame 1 having plurality of plates 2 positioned on a footwear to be worn by a user by plurality of suction units 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 determines dimensions of user's footwear, plurality of motorized hinges 6 for tilting plates 2 such that frame 1 is overlapped on footwear's curved portion, two telescopically operated L-shaped links 4 extend/retract for positioning a suction unit 3 underneath sole of footwear for properly securing frame 1 on footwear for preventing any scratches or scuffs on user's footwear while shifting gears, a LiDAR sensor determines distance of motorcycle's gear shifter from frame 1, a motorized slider 7 translates a motorized clipper 8 arranged on slider 7 in proximity to gear shifter which holds and assists user in shifting gear of motorcycle and a microphone 9 receives user's command for shifting gears."
