MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004403 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable shielding device for two-wheelers.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable shielding device for two-wheelers comprises of a cuboidal frame 1 developed to be positioned on a front portion of a two-wheeler, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting placement of frame 1 on front portion, a pair of motorized clamping units 2 for gripping front portion that results in securing of frame 1 on front portion, an imaging unit 3 for determining condition of vehicle, multiple motorized hinge joints 4 for providing movement to multiple link rods 5 that aids in positioning of rods 5 in front of vehicle's driver, a motorized roller 6 to unwind a sheet 7 after successful positioning of rods 5 in front of driver, a pair of motorized clippers 8 for gripping a free end of sheet 7, a motorized sliding unit for providing movement to clippers 8 over rods 5 in a manner that results in covering of driver while driving vehicle."
