MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084470 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'adjustable seating assistive device for bollard.'

Inventor(s) include Sahil Verma; Amrita Singh; and Rini Saxena.

The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable seating assistive device for bollard, comprising an L-shaped platform 1 constructed with plurality of adjacently installed curved shaped plates 2 adhered with a bollard on top portion, and a ring 3 carved on a metallic sheet 4 attached with the platform 1, a laser acuity sensor for detecting diameter of bollard, a motorized iris lid 5 for gripping bollard within ring 3, a touch enabled screen 6 for inputting commands for sitting on platform 1, a camera 7 mounted on platform 1 for detecting user's body posture, a motorized hinge 8 configured between each of adjacent plates 2 for tilting plates 2 to comfortably sit on platform 1, a speaker 9 mounted on platform 1 for notifying user to get off platform 1 if vehicle approaches user, a curved-shaped flap 10 installed with sheet 4 via a motorized pivot joint for deploying flap 10 over-head user."
