MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022870 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'adjustable seating assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable seating assistive device, comprising a circular platform 1 configured with a curved shaped plate 2 positioned on a ground surface, configured with multiple motorized wheels 3 to maneuver platform 1, a laser sensor determines level of surface, a telescopically operated rod stabilize platform 1 over surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 detects height of a user, a hydraulically operated bar 5 positions plate 2 at an optimum height and allowing user to attain a seating posture over plate 2, an ultrasonic sensor determines dimensions of user's back portion, multiple primary motorized hinge joints 6 alters shape of plate 2, an inflatable unit inflated by an air compressor to provide comfort to user's back portion, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 provide multi-directional movement to plate 2, a thermal camera 8 monitor strain over back portion, and a vibrating unit provides relief to user."
