MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010718 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'adjustable seatbelt fastening assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable seatbelt fastening assistive device comprising a frame 1 having a telescopically operated horizontal bar 2 developed to be positioned in between backrest and headrest of a vehicle's seat, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for determining dimensions of rods integrated underneath headrest, a pair of C-shaped clamps 5 acquire a grip over seat by gripping rods, an ultrasonic sensor monitoring height of user seated on seat for actuating an inverted V-shaped extendable member 6 to extend for getting oriented over user's head, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 providing rotatory movement to member 6 towards other side of seat for engaging seatbelt with user's body, and a tension sensor monitoring tension experienced on seatbelt for actuating a motorized gripper 8 to grip and pull seatbelt in order to provide comfortable experience to user."
