MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014261 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'adjustable prosthetic limb.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Bhawna; Dr. Ashima; Himanshi Sachan; and Harmanjot Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable prosthetic limb, comprises a telescopic rod 1 configured with a primary suction cup 4 enables a user to attach the rod 1, a curved member 5 attached with the rod 1 enables a user to walk and run, a motorized hinge 6 configured with the body to alter angle of the member 5, an image capturing module 7 installed over the member 5 to determine user height, a motorized ball and socket joint 8 integrated within the shaft to tilt the rod 1, plurality of ultrasonic sensors integrated within the shaft for determining leg movement, plurality of impact sensors integrated with the rod 1 and member 5 for determining impact exerted over the rod 1, a primary and secondary electromagnetic shock absorber installed arranged on the rod 1 for absorbing impact, and a Fiber Bragg Grating sensor integrated within the primary suction cup 4 to determine health parameter."
