MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012911 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable plant supporting device.'

Inventor(s) include Santosh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable plant supporting device, comprises of a frame 1 developed to be positioned by a user in proximity to a plant that is required to be supported, a C-shaped unit 2 for accommodating branches and vines of the plant, a motorized scissor arrangement 3 for increasing/decreasing the size of the C-shaped unit 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images of the plant and the surroundings, a telescopic bar 5 for extending to position a C-shaped clamp 6 for gripping the object, a first electronic nozzle 7 connected with a multi-sectioned chamber 8 for dispensing an insecticide or pesticide solution on the plant, a second electronic nozzle 9 connected with a water reservoir 10 for dispensing water on the plant, and a L-shaped telescopic rod 11 for extending to position a motorized clipping unit 12 for gripping the vines."
