MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018807 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'adjustable pipeline shielding device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable pipeline shielding device for road surface comprises a pair of U-shaped bodies 1 developed to be positioned on a road surface to accommodate a water pipeline, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 mounted on one of the bodies 1 to capture images of the vehicle approaching towards the bodies 1, a pair of telescopic rods 2 arranged between the bodies 1 for extending to position the bodies 1, a proximity sensor mapped on each of the bodies 1 for detecting distance between the bodies 1 and the vehicle, a pair of motorized hinge joint 3 arranged on each side of the bodies 1 for deploying a pair of plates, a speed sensor mapped on each of the bodies 1 for detecting speed of the approaching vehicle, a LED 4 (Light Emitting Diode) mapped on the bodies 1 to warn driver of the vehicle."
