MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005486 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'adjustable oral health monitoring device.'

Inventor(s) include Manbir Brar; Bhupinder Kaur; Sajjan Singh; and Mirgender Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable oral health monitoring device comprises of a frame 1 having a plate 2 positioned on a fixed surface, a pair of telescopically operated L-shaped rods 3 for supporting frame 1, a first imaging unit 4 for determining positioning of user's face with respect to frame 1, a curved member 5 attached with a pair of extendable bars 6 that positions member 5 in proximity to user's mouth portion, a cushioning 8 for applying a pressure over user's cheek portion to wide open mouth portion of user, an extendable L-shaped pole 9 for positioning a rotatable second imaging unit 10 in proximity to user's open mouth portion for determining any abnormal parameters including cavities, gum swelling, discoloration or grandness in user's oral cavity, an odor sensor for monitoring any odor from user's mouth portion and a database stored with symptoms of different oral diseases/conditions."
