MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012897 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable lifting assistive tool.'
Inventor(s) include Sumit Saini.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable lifting assistive tool, comprising an elongated body 1 arranged with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip over the body 1, a microphone 3 for receiving vocal input of the user regarding an object to be lifted from a ground surface present in proximity to the distal end, an imaging unit 4 to determine location of the object with respect to the distal end, a linear actuator 5 to extend/retract the body 1 for positioning a curved first plate 6 in proximity to the object, a curved second plate 7 over the first plate 6 by means of a motorized hinge joint 8 for acquiring a grip over the object, a motorized sliding unit 11 for translating the bar 9 along the sliding unit 11 for adjusting fulcrum on the body 1 for lifting the object."
