MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026628 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 30, 2024, for 'adjustable jar lid opening device.'
Inventor(s) include Y. P. Malik; Vipin Tyagi; Jasveer Singh Rana; and Devyani.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable jar lid opening device comprises a frame 1 installed with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 determine presence of a jar in proximity to the frame 1, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 3 positions a hollow plate 4 integrated on the rod 3 over the jar, an ultrasonic sensor monitors dimensions of the jar's lid, plurality of extendable strips 5 integrated on inner periphery of the plate 4 extend/retract positioning a suction unit 6 integrated on each of the strips 5 over the lid's periphery, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 integrated in between the plate 4 and rod 3 provide angular movement to the plate 4, a hydraulic actuator 8 integrated in between the rod 3 and joint for applying a pulling force on the lid, a motorized gripper 9 integrated on the plate 4 for gripping on a pull tab integrated on the jar."
