MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011290 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'adjustable furniture assembling assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Rahul Vishnoi.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable furniture assembling assistive device is designed to assist users in arranging multiple wooden planks on a wooden surface, includes a body 1 featuring a handle 2 for positioning body 1 over wooden surface, along with a display panel 3, enabling user to select desired alignment, an imaging unit 4 determines dimensions of the surface, allowing an inbuilt microcontroller to calculate the gaps needed between each plank, motorized sliding unit 6 with extendable pins 5 aid in positioning the planks symmetrically, while C-shaped clamping units 7 grip and arrange the planks at the gaps, a telescopic L-shaped bar 9 supports a multi-sectioned cylindrical unit 8, which extends to position a tube near a corner of the surface with microcontroller energizes electromagnetically powered spring 10 integrated on each cylindrical unit 8 section, launching nails through the tube to fix the planks securely on the surface."
