MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007023 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'adjustable eating assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Harsimranjot Kaur; Tanveer Kaur; Ishika; Harshit Miglani; Dr. Chhinder Kaur Dhaliwal; Raj Kumar; and Mansi Grover.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable eating assistive device, comprises of a frame having a plate 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images of the frame, a telescopically operated rod 3 to extend till mouth portion of the packet, an expandable ring 4 to expand/contract for acquiring a grip over the mouth portion in order to properly engage the packet on the frame, plurality of motorized clippers 5 for acquiring a grip on the mouth portion to stretch the mouth portion of the packet, a microphone 6 for receiving voice command of user, a robotic arm 7 to get extended inside of the packet and acquire a grip onto the user-specified items, and an inflatable bag 9 integrated on extendable link 8 to get inflated for fitting on the mouth portion of the packet."
