MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004416 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable cutting device for eatables.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an adjustable cutting device for eatables, comprising a cuboidal body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a circular platform 2 attached with body 1 via a link rod 8 for enabling user to place an eatable that desire to cut, a weight sensor installed on platform 2 for detecting placement of eatable, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on platform 2 for capturing and detecting size and dimension of eatable and accordingly evaluates virtual representation of eatable, a touch interactive display panel 5 installed on body 1 accessed by user to input command regarding pieces that user desire to cut from eatable, and a motorized hinge joint attached in between mouth portion of platform 2 and body 1 for tilting platform 2 to dispense pieces into body 1."
