MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006610 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'adjustable crown moulding holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Pooja Sahni; Dr. Simarpreet Kaur; Dr. Saurabh Chaitanya; Shivam Pandey; Rohit Singh; Esha; and Harmanjot.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable crown moulding holding device, comprises of a platform 1 developed to be installed on a top portion of a wall surface, multiple suction cups 2 are attached with platform 1 for affixing with wall surface in order to mount platform 1 on surface, a laser sensor installed on platform 1 for detecting positioning of a crown moulding, an ultrasonic sensor mapped on platform 1 for detecting size of said moulding, a cushioned member 7 is arranged on plate 4 and link 6 for preventing any damage to moulding, motorized cutter 8 to maintain evenness of moulding, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 11 mounted on platform 1 for determining presence of uneven edges on moulding, a dust sensor mounted on platform 1 for detecting presence of any dust particles on moulding, an air blower 10 assembled on platform 1 for cleaning dust particles by blowing air on moulding."
