MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012928 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'adjustable container lid opening/closing assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable container lid opening/closing assistive device, comprises of a frame 1 developed to be positioned over a container's lid which is to be opened, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing and processing multiple images in the vicinity of the frame 1, a circular ring 3 for expanding/contracting as per the dimensions of the lid, plurality of motorized clamping units 4 for gripping the lid of the container, a microphone 5 for receiving voice commands regarding opening/closing of the lid, a motorized circular sliding unit 6 for translating the clamping units 4 in a manner to apply torsional force over the lid of the container, an extendable C-shaped gripper 7 for gripping the container, and a robotic arm 8 for positioning a blade 9 in order to cut the sealing band of the container."
