MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004749 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'adjustable cereal crop rooting device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable cereal crop rooting device, comprises of an extendable frame 1 having a pair of J-shaped telescopic rods 2 to accommodate by a user on a shin portion while performing a cereal crop rooting, a pair of straps 3 attached with the frame 1 to secure the frame 1 on the shin portion, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the frame 1 determines size of the shin portion, a laser displacement sensor mapped on the frame 1 for detecting dimension of a land to be rooted with the crop, a holographic projection unit 5 assembled on the frame 1 for projecting holographic image on the land regarding a path to be followed by the user while rooting the crop, and a container 6 assembled on the frame 1 for storing the crop, an inlet 7 crafted on the container 6 to withdraw the crops for rooting."
