MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012442 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'adjustable cattle horn trimming device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable cattle horn trimming device comprises a platform 1 which enables a user to accommodate an animal, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images, plurality of motorized clamping unit 3 integrated on dual-axis sliding unit 4 to acquire a grip over the animal's legs for securing the animal, an extendable L-shaped rod 5 integrated with a U-shaped jaw 6 to acquire a grip over the animal's head, a pressure sensor for monitoring pressure applied by the jaw 6 on the animal's head, a pair of telescopically operated L-shaped bars 7 for positioning a motorized blade 8 in proximity to the animal's horns, a proximity sensor for monitoring proximity of blade with horns, a motorized ball and socket joint 9 that provides an angular movement to the blades, and a FBG sensor for monitoring the vital health parameters of the animal."
