MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025534 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adjustable bathing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Parveen Singla; Dr. Ruchi Singla; Vaibhav Gupta; Dhanraj; and Sumit Bhati.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable bathing assistive device, comprising a frame 1 developed to be positioned vertically on a seating unit 2, suction cups 3 to adhere to the seating unit 2 for securing the frame 1 on the seating unit 2, hydraulically operated L-shaped rods 4 to extend/retract for positioning a suction unit 5 on the ground surface for adhering to the surface, thereby providing an additional support to the frame 1, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of the platform to detect positioning of the user on the seating unit 2, hydraulically operated link 8 to position a plate 7 underneath the user's legs, motorized hinges 10 to tilt the plates 9 as per the user's back posture and motorized clamps 11 to enclose the user's chest portion for restricting movement of the user on the seating unit 2."
