MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003704 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'adjustable barrel storage device.'

Inventor(s) include Ranjit Kumar Bindal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable barrel storage device, comprising a frame 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 2 is arranged with frame 1 that is accessed by a user for providing input regarding a user-desired operation to be performed on a barrel positioned in proximity to frame 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on frame 1 to determine dimensions of barrel along with positioning of barrel with respect to frame 1, the plates 4 are integrated with a drawer arrangement 5 that is actuated by an inbuilt microcontroller to extend plates 4 in a manner that one of plate get positioned in contact with barrel, multiple extendable clamping units 8 integrated on lateral sides of plates 4 that are actuated by microcontroller to acquire a grip over accommodated barrel in order to secure barrel while frame 1 moves."
